State Finals will be held in February for Tasmania, March for South Australia, September in New South Wales and October in Queensland and Western Australia before the Victorian winner is selected during the Melbourne Cup Carnival. The entire event culminates with the National Final on Crown Oaks Day.
Men have the chance to strut their stuff and share in the spotlight on AAMI Victoria Derby Day when the Men's Racewear competition is held.
All contestants in the Victorian Women's Racewear and Men's Racewear competitions during the Melbourne Cup Carnival (this does not apply to interstate competitions) are strongly encouraged to pre-register their interest to ensure inclusion in the competition.
The "invitation-only" Design Award and Millinery Award will again bring a touch of the catwalk to Flemington in 2010, with all heats and finals presented as choreographed fashion parades. The Design Award will be held on Emirates Melbourne Cup Day and the Millinery Award will be held on Crown Oaks Day.
The Design Award showcases the talents of Australia's finest racewear designers. In 2010, there will be a real focus on stylish innovative Racewear.
